The splendid view of Lake Garda became the mandatory element in the restructuring of this villa, where the opening of large windows was the one “non-negotiable” condition. And so, in collaboration with Loris Ravazzolo, the professional engineer in charge of structural aspects, we literally brought a villa of the seventies back “to light”. The new house is graced not only with a splendid view of the lakeside and of its wonderful sunsets, but also with new light pervading the entire living area, barely filtered by ultra-light curtains of exquisite quality. Excellent materials and experienced craftsmanship distinguish every single detail in the project, from walls to furnishings. For the floors, the choice fell on fine natural materials: luxurious marbles, such as gold-veined Lasa Covelano White, and Noir Saint Laurent, used to achieve particular graphic effects; and Rovere Vulcano oak wood. We also designed all the furniture in the house, from living room to kitchen, including the woodwork and accessories in the bedrooms; particular attention was paid to the design of the distinctive interior doors, for which a striking combination of bevelled mirrored and bronze-coloured glass with black walnut was chosen. The living-room furniture has sophisticated doors whose finish of laser-worked leather brings the glamour of fashion catwalks to these interiors. Revamping the rooms and lending them a contemporary aura was a challenge we grasped with professional enthusiasm. Borrowing from trends of the seventies, and adding our distinctive touch of decor, we gave life to a house that was new yet familiar. And the owners, formerly attached to the “old” spaces and their day-to-day usage, are now ready to take their ease in discerning elegance.
