A view that embraces the whole of Lake Garda and the large in-ground pool are the highlights of this villa located along the panoramic road to Costabella, one of a number of private homes with splendid grounds. The couple who own the villa had commissioned the restructuring of their guest quarters, and of the zones devoted to relaxation, wellness and conviviality. Carefully revisited in our project, these areas include a spacious living room in which to entertain friends and spend a cheerful time in company; the gym with sauna; a well-equipped and generously stocked cellar; a mini-apartment for guests. All of these open onto the porch and garden with in-ground swimming pool. We redefined these spaces and designed each piece of indoor and outdoor furnishings, skilfully mixing natural materials , such as wood and Prun (Lessinia) stone, colours, and vintage furniture. A splendid example of this approach is the decor of the swimming pool area, where contemporary design and ethnic pieces are successfully combined; where the dazzling blue of the water harmonises with the turquoise of the patchwork and crochet carpets; and where the whiteness of the local stone used for re-facing the pool binds all of this together. This explosion of colours characterises the porch, conceived as a series of convivial spaces and equipped for cooking in various fashions. A large barbeque of Prun stone, made to the architects’ design, takes centre stage out of doors; while a central working island and ample cabinets characterise the kitchen, of simple and linear design. The lake and the villa engage in an intense dialogue through the ample windows of the living area, where the splendid panorama can be admired from the large table. Here the guests can enjoy the annexe, whose bedroom features strikingly elegant and original furniture in black, with turquoise accents recalling the colours of the lake.
